Bay laurel branch

bay-laurel
A lady at our church brought branches of bay leaves a couple of Sundays ago, grown by her neighbor in a greenhouse in his yard. I had never had fresh bay leaves and their scent is lovely and subtle, not like hit-you-over-the-head basil or oregano. I let my branch dry in the open air for about a week or so, then stripped off the leaves and put them into a bottle.

Hi Lisa, I just linked back to you because of your nice comment about my new masthead. I’ve been looking at all of your work, which I think is wonderful. Your pen and ink work is really good. I also love your little trick of blurring the text on your journal pages.

BTW I was interested to read somewhere that unlike other herbs, you should never use fresh bayleaves in cooking, they should always be dried - I don’t know why

Nice leaves! How did you do the out of focus look? Is it drawn or is done using a program? Very nice effect.
